Restful Refuge cabins are custom-built, vaulted ceiling cabins with a knotted pine loft sleeping area, perfect for resting after a long day of hunting, fishing, or spending time with family. The cabins are located along Channel A on US Highway 2, just five (5!) miles west of the town of Devils Lake, North Dakota.

Our Restful Refuge cabins are new, knotty pine cabins located just outside of Devils Lake, North Dakota. The cabins are an ideal lodging destination for hunters, fishermen, and families.
What is RESTFUL REFUGE?
Our Restful Refuge cabins are located within three miles of two public access locations for boat docking. Tucked away from the hustle, our cabins are nestled along a quiet gravel road. You'll be within walking distance of Channel A, one of the most prolific fishing areas around Devils Lake.
It is beautiful and peaceful out here. The area is full of vibrant sunrises and sunsets, a variety of wildlife, and the calming sounds of nature. So get outside, and then get to one of our Restful Refuge cabins for some R&R.
Did you say Devils Lake?
Devils Lake (the lake, not town) is one of the country's largest fisheries. It is the notorious home of a substantial number of walleye, perch, white bass, and northern pike. Catch your limit and then enjoy the day relaxing by the fire at the cabin!

Geese, ducks, deer! Oh my! The Devils Lake area won't disappoint. Just near our cabins, you will encounter pheasants, deer, jackrabbits, geese, and many varieties of wildlife.
What's the story?
Tad Schmidt's dream was to build and own a place of refuge for people to escape for rest and recuperation - to get away from the chaos and busyness of life.

He has enjoyed hunting and fishing since he was a young boy and has aspired to continue that tradition with his own children and grandchildren.

His outdoor memories with family inspired this dream, whether it was going hunting, enjoying lake time, or sitting by a fire. His desire is to provide a place for hunters and fishermen to relax in a quiet atmosphere close to Devils Lake and all it has to offer.
